Mom, you were my first friend and forever stayed my best friend. We’ve shared countless hours talking, crying, laughing and loving life. I am blessed to be able to say I have an incredible mother in law. When others complain of theirs I can brag about how lucky I am-it tends to make them a little angry-but it has been wonderful being a part of your family. You raised a boy who became a remarkable and amazing husband and I am truly grateful to you for that. You also raised a girl who became a strong and confident woman who I am proud to call my sister and friend. Back in the 70s Kay & Norb, Todd & Sandi and sometimes Shari + Dave & I would go on many weekend adventures…The lake, Huron State Fair, Valley Fair (We’re going to Shakopee). Kay and I would bake the most fabulous bars and we would all eat them up (pre-nutrition days).
One time at the Huron State Fair the guys were playing some game and Kay & I were walking around when we noticed a booth with a good-looking Carny in cut-offs sitting (as guys do) on his basketball on his counter. His cut-offs were baggy and he wasn’t wearing underwear (you get the picture). Kay and I kept walking around this guy’s booth for a peek. The guys finally noticed this and couldn’t figure out what we were doing until Dave finally saw what we did. We all hooted and laughed and talked about it all the way home : )
