What do I need to get started?
First, preview our party templates under “View Sample Virtual Parties” to make sure we have a template you’d like to use. Next, gather email addresses of friends and family you’d like to invite (multiple email addresses MUST be separated by a comma). Select up to 18 photos you’d like to upload (maximum photo size: 8 mb each). Create a host account, then purchase your party through Paypal or credit card. Write a host greeting, upload photos, and invite friends/family via email to join the party by leaving birthday messages.
How do I make payment for a virtual birthday party?
Once you create an account and sign in, you’ll see a link on the right side of the site that is labeled “Purchase Parties”. When you click on this link, you’ll be directed to the PayPal website. You can either pay through PayPal or through any major credit card. After you’ve completed your payment, it is VERY IMPORTANT to click on the “Return to Merchant.” link so that your credit is reported back to our system. If for any reason your credit does not update, please email us at Info@TheVirtualBirthdayParty.com, and we’ll correct the situation.
Do friends and family pay to leave message?
No. There is no cost to friends or family to leave a birthday message.
Do friends and family need to “sign-up” to leave a message?
No. However, friends and family need a valid email address in order to leave a birthday message. We will NOT sale or use your friends or family email addresses for ANY reason. (See privacy policy)
How long does the virtual birthday party site stay posted?
Your virtual birthday party site will remain active for 60+ days after the birthday date.
What if I don’t want to disclose the year of the birthday person?
On occasion we have people that do not want to disclose the year they were born. If you’d prefer not to disclose the year in which someone was born, please use any year.
How much does it cost?
Contact us at info@thevirtualbirthdayparty.com for pricing. There is no cost for guests to leave messages.
Can the Host remove and/or edit a birthday message?
Yes. Hosts have complete control over their virtual birthday party. Host can edit and delete birthday messages.
Can Guests upload photos?
No, not at this time. However, Guests can email photos to the Host, and the Host can post pictures to the Photo Gallery.
Can all Guests view other messages?
Yes. It’s important to note that all guests can see all birthday messages.
How do I add a link to my virtual birthday party site?
To add a link to your virtual birthday party website, please follow these instructions:
This is a test at adding a link within the message.
This is a test at adding a <a href=”http://www.google.com” target=”_blank”>link</a> within the message.
Replace the ‘www.google.com’ with the link that you would like to use, and replace the text before the </a> that needs to be the link.
Another example: I would like to add a link for “google.com”.
You would type the following: I would like to add a link for <a href=”http://www.google.com” target=”_blank”>”google.com”</a>

Can I upload music to The Virtual Birthday Party card?
No, not at this time, but we’re working on it.
Are there limits on who I can invite to a The Virtual Birthday Party I’m hosting?
You can invite anyone who has a valid email address.
What do I do if I see an offensive message on a party site?
a. If you feel a message that has been posted is offensive, please contact the party Host. It is the responsibility of the party Host to manage the birthday messages.
b. If the Host does not remove the offensive message you can report it to The Virtual Birthday Party support staff at Info@TheVirtualBirthdayParty.com.
Note that The Virtual Birthday Party will ONLY remove Guest messages that violate our Terms of Use.
How many messages can I write?
There is no limit to the number of notes that you can write.
What is the maximum length of Messages?
Notes can be up to a maximum of 10,000 characters. You will receive a warning that you need to reduce the size of your note if you try to post a note that is too large.
Can I print the messages? Yes, but there is only one theme for the printed birthday card, which is a Happy Birthday theme.
How can I remove a birthday message?
Hosts have complete control over their virtual birthday parties. Only the Host can edit and delete birthday messages. So Guests need to carefully proof their messages before exiting the system!
